On the turning point of the milleniums the whole world was waiting for some extraordinary interesting and innovational decisions in the sphere of fashion, but it didn’t happen. For us, the producers of men’s clothes, it’s very pleasant, that the men’s suit is experiencing its second birthday now. Exactly the suit takes a considerable part in the new collections. But on the contrary to the conservative ancestors, modern suits are not ceremonial in the choice of colous and fabrics.

For men’s fashion the classical style has become a leading one. The coats with the accentuated shoulder line of a semi-fitted silhouette and with the three-button fastening, stockinet waistcoats and cardigans send us back into the 40-s and 50-s when a man was obliged to look elegant. Fashionable accessories to the suit are scarves, hats and gloves.

The colour palette for men’s clothes has extended greatly. Except plain fabrics in the season 2001 bright printed patterns – check, «herring-bone» and «crow’s feet» are suggested. Fabrics used for the production of suits are very much similar to classical ones (gaberdine, cloth, cashmere) but they possess additional qualities – take off statistical electricity, push away water, dirt, etc. Moreover, the fabrics containing elastic fibres are extremely popular. The structure of the modern fabrics is quite complex: they contain till 5-6 fibres and sometimes include quite inconceivable combinations, for example, wool, flax, rayon, lycre, mohair. Genuine leather of various shades has impetuously come into fashion.

Great variety of stylistic borrowings doesnХt allow to identify just one leading silhouette of clothesХ form. Costumes manufactured in the style of 80-es have more loose shapes and considerably widened shoulder line. Straight jackets which are completed by loose trousers, narrowed to the bottom are still popular. Traditional menХs cloaks and elegant coats are becoming fashionable again. All in all slipshot elegance is being kept.

The thing that is mainly accentuated in menХs fashion of autumn and winter 2001-2002 is the usage of different colours. Among the usual anthrocitic and dark grey colours of costumes the colours of rust and chocolate are also becoming popular. The creative group of designers carefully follow different tendencies in the sphere of menХs fashion and besides classical models they suggest new collections to the stronger sex.
